Privacy policy

1. What happens to the files you open

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Spreadsheets, CSVs, PDFs, images and pasted text are read and processed by JavaScript on your own machine. They are not sent to this site, to us, or to anyone else — there is no upload endpoint and no application server to receive them.

This holds for the heavier tools too. The OCR tool downloads a recognition engine and a language model as static files from this site and runs them locally; the document you are reading never travels in the other direction. Barcode images, compressed pictures and generated PDFs are produced in the browser and stay there until you save them.

2. What is stored on your device

Exactly one tool writes anything to your browser's local storage. The invoice generator saves your working draft there so that a refresh does not lose an hour of typing. It stays on your device, readable by that browser and by nothing else; clearing the draft in the tool, or clearing site data in your browser, removes it. No other tool on this site stores anything between visits.

Passwords are deliberately excluded. The PDF unlock tool holds a password in memory for the length of the operation and never writes it to storage.

3. Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request — IP address, browser user agent, the address requested, the time — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack and abuse. Their handling of that data is covered by the Cloudflare privacy policy.

What we see from that is an aggregate dashboard: request counts, rough country breakdowns, cached-versus-served ratios. It does not identify individual visitors, and there is no analytics or tracking script embedded in these pages.

4. Advertising

This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense, which is how it stays free with no account and no paywall. Advertising is the one place where third parties are involved in your visit, so here is what that means in practice:

• Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including limiting how often you see the same ad and detecting invalid traffic.
• Google may serve personalised ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, where you have permitted that.
• These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and we do not receive the data behind them. We see aggregate earnings and impression counts, not who saw what.

Turning personalised ads off. If you have a Google account, ad personalisation can be switched off in that account's ad settings (Google presents this as “My Ad Center”, reachable from your Google account's data and privacy section). Doing so does not remove advertising; it makes it non-personalised. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser has a similar effect for this site.

5. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Visitors from these regions are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalised advertising cookies are used. You can decline, and you can change your answer later through the consent link that platform provides. Declining leaves every tool on this site fully working — the tools do not depend on advertising or on any cookie to run.

The industry opt-out page Your Online Choices, run by the EDAA, offers a further per-vendor control for behavioural advertising.

6. Children

These are tools for people doing commercial and administrative work. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

7. Changes to this policy

If what the site does with data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The change that would matter most — the introduction of any script that tracks visitors across pages or sites — is one we would state plainly here rather than bury.
